Data Retention Policy

Effective date: July 17, 2026

While your account is active

Your files remain available while the account is active, subject to your actions, storage limits, these policies, and service operation. You should maintain independent copies of critical information.

After paid access ends

Your account enters read-only recovery mode for six months. You may download files and reactivate, but may not upload or modify files. We intend to send clear notices showing the paid-through date and scheduled deletion date, including reminders with approximately 90, 30, and 7 days remaining.

Scheduled deletion

Unless you reactivate or request earlier deletion, active copies of uploaded files are scheduled for deletion six months after paid access ends. Residual copies in routine backups are scheduled to expire within 30 additional days as backup rotations complete.

Earlier deletion

You may request earlier account deletion at admin@picodegallo.io. We will explain the expected timing and may verify identity. Some billing, tax, fraud-prevention, dispute, or security records may be retained where legally required or reasonably necessary.

Different kinds of records

• Uploaded files and file metadata: active term plus six-month recovery period, then deletion; backup expiry within 30 additional days.
• Account and authentication data: retained while needed for the account and recovery period, then deleted or minimized unless legally required.
• Billing and tax records: retained for applicable accounting and legal periods.
• Security and audit logs: retained for a limited period appropriate to security, abuse prevention, disputes, and legal obligations.
• Support communications: retained while needed to resolve the request and maintain an appropriate service record.

No surprise deletion

Our goal is to make deletion dates understandable and avoid sudden loss. Notices are a courtesy and may fail if contact details are outdated, so the date shown in your account or cancellation confirmation remains controlling.

Legal preservation

We may preserve specific information beyond ordinary schedules when legally required, necessary to resolve a dispute, or needed to protect people or the service. Preservation is limited to the relevant information and purpose.
